Biography

      Born in Australia in the mid-50s I have seen many changes in lifestyles and the way many individuals change their likes and dislikes when it comes to the arts. Having alternated between city life in a green and then blue uniform, to a cattleman's Akubra in the bush. I have been luckier than most.

      I have studied in Wollongong, Casula, and Liverpool Evening Colleges and gained a Degree in Creative Arts majoring in painting, drawing, and Curatorial Studies.

      I suppose like all artists, I try to communicate my thoughts and feelings through my art. I know I have been successful when the viewer feels the essence or spirit that I have instilled into the artwork. If that spirit moves the viewer by emotion into other new directions of thought or even subliminal expectations and questions, then my story has evolved and moved on. I am drawn to contrasts, black and white, beauty and ugliness, and even focus and vagueness.  Does a parrot lose its colour in the night? No, it takes just a little light to explode the contrasts and reveal the beauty. 

      Having seen the ugliness and carnage that humans can inflict on each other and also the wonders of new life, I much prefer the latter. Yet every scene has something to offer and can present challenges for me and the story I wish to tell.

      I am proud that I have artworks in the UK, Belgium, Austria, Germany, New Zealand, Mongolia, South Africa

and from Queensland to Victoria in Australia.
